Hunting is a passion and a poison for most. We long to be out in the wild, experiencing everything nature has to offer, while our families, jobs, school and life in general have different plans that demand our free time.
That’s why at High Country Outfitters we aim to make the best use of your time hunting in Nevada. The demand of time to scout, shop for groceries, travel to and from camp, set up and tear down camp can add days if not weeks to your hunt.
That’s where High Country outfitters comes in, you can sit back and focus on life until it’s time to leave for camp, once you’re there, we’re ready to hunt. You could call it a turn-key hunting trip. Show up and start your next big adventure. No need to spend your valuable time driving all over scouting or going to the store only to forget the lunch meat.
When you arrive in camp you’ll be greeted with a smile and a guide that is familiar with the Nevada hunt unit, and they will be ready to make sure you are set for the adventure that awaits.
Hunting in Nevada can be physically demanding, so to counter that, we will ensure you have a comfortable place to rest and plenty of food and water to keep you fueled up and ready to hunt.
It's quite simple, customer care is our number one priority.
Born and raised in the heart of Wine Country, Master Guide Joe St. John moved to Nevada with his wife in 2007 and wasted no time learning about all the outdoor recreational hunting and fishing opportunities Nevada has to offer. Growing up Joe's family was very active outdoors, either hunting, fishing, hiking, or camping. As a young man, there was never any doubt where his head was, it was in the clouds, in the mountains and in the high country. At High Country Outfitters, we are doing our part to pass along the same passion for the outdoor life that was entrusted in us by our families. Joe now lives in Northern Nevada with his wife Ashley, and their two sons. Together, Joe and Ashley are raising their boys outside, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking or playing baseball, ensuring the family traditions are passed along to the next generation of outdoorsmen.

Codey started hunting at the age of 13 with family friends, and bagged his first rifle muley buck that year hooking him on the outdoors. Since then he has pursued numerous species of game in multiple states to include Oregon, Idaho, and California; taking Game with his bow, rifle, muzzleloader, and shotgun. He found his true outdoorsman passion at 17, when he began working with dogs in the pursuit of upland game! Since then, he has spent every season chasing the notorious devil bird they call chukar.
